The Rock Creek School is an independent secondary school accessibly located in downtown Washington, DC. We’re opening with 5th & 6th grade in fall 2025 and will expand a grade each year to serve grades 5-12.
The Rock Creek School is as academically ambitious as it is joyful, makes use of its downtown location for regular fieldwork, and offers a better price point than other independent schools.

Practical Liberal Arts
We’re modernizing the liberal arts, for example adding a Data Science sequence that brings depth & relevance to our science & social science courses.

Student-driven work
We give our middle school students the space & skills to uncover and pursue their interests through our innovative Badging program, supported by our Practical Psychology sequence.

Fieldwork
We use the real world as a jumping off point, adding qualitative depth & quantitative rigor to our science & social science courses through weekly fieldwork in middle school.
